Done this route in the summer and thought it would be a good winter route as it is all on forest road/A68. Good bikeable climb & good long descent.

after easy start it soon turned in to a tough slog up. alot of ice and snow with deep drifts in places 10.5 mls took my 1hr 45, last mile abit crazy on main A696 but all in all great ride roll on spr... read whole comment...
