A great afternoon biking in the snow. North side of Loch very varied terrain - enjoyed the small water crossings and views looking over the Loch.

Description:-
Start at the Forestry Commission car park at the east end of Loch Affric and follow the estate track along the south side of the Loch. This stretch consists of part of the Affric Kintail way. Once you pass the end of the Loch, continue west on the track for a short while until you reach a bridge, which you cross. The track continues for another 750m before you branch off onto the path on the right, heading back towards the loch.

The return is along this path/track above the north bank of Loch Affric. It is very rocky in places but in the most part is very nice to ride, with great views. There are lots of short, sharp climbs and descents, and plenty of water crossings.

When you come to Affric Lodge, take the singletrack path round the right hand side of the buildings, which puts you back on another estate road leading back to the carpark.

This route can be extended by cycling out and back to the Alltbeithe youth hostel.
