Description:-
Great route over Embsay Moor and return over the old coach road from Addingham to Skipton. Some road work required ,mostly over quiet lanes . I use the canal tow paths through Skipton rather than use the road . Flasby Fell can get boggy over the winter and wet periods ,but there is a well graded track were I've never had any problems from the landowners which bypasses the climb to the summit ,but brings you out in the same place .
One word of caution. Embsay Moor is used for shooting grouse and pheasant ,and gets closed at certain dates post August 12th.

Description:-
From the car park ,look for the small lane next to the Church. Follow the lane ,and then the well graded track at the farm. Take a left and follow the track all the way up to the moor . One small section can get a bit boggy ,but soon reverts to the main shooting track. Follow this to the road ,then through the gate and onto the bridleway that goes to Bolton Abbey . Follow the road to Addingham, pass through the small estate and pick up the tarmac track heading to Skipton . This the old coach road to Skipton. Follow the track along its length ,and follow the technical drop to the outskirts of Skipton. Drop into the housing estate and follow through to the Canal . Pick up the canal tow path ( can be very busy ,so keep your speed down) through the town ,and pick up the road at the draw bridge. Look out for the Unclassified road ( unsurfaced) on the right .This passes over the railway line. Follow the quiet lanes to the bridleway that goes over Flasby Fell. Pick up the road that goes to Rylstone taking in the small UCR and bridleway back to the car park .
Gets a Hard for the distance .

Parking is available on the road in Hetton. Join the track approx 100yards past the pub to the left - Moor Lane and follow for approx 1 mile . Take the sign posted bridleway to the right at the gate when it joins the moor - can be boggy after periods of rain - and follow to a walled lane that then joins the road . Follow the road for approx 200 yards and take the mining track to the right and pass onto Boss Moor . The track breaks down in a vague track over a peaty section which can get boggy after wet periods. Follow the track to a gate and pick up the surfaced track to the left and the very good descent towards Threshfield. Take the track to the left when the lane becomes surfaced. Follow the roads and bridleway around Threshfield, before picking up the walled lane bridleway onto Linton Moor. Cross over the stream and cross the field before picking up the walled lane to Cracoe.Head towards Cracoe and pick up the bridleway to the right , and head towards Rlystone passing the farm to the right. Cross the road and pass under the railway bridge, and take the bridleway to the left . Cross over the stream and head up to Hetton .Pop into the pub for a drink!
