Description:-
From the YDNP car park head north to the church and pass through the gate onto the bridleway with the tunnels. Head up the steep hill and through both tunnels . Avoid the left turn ( Long Lane) and carry straight on on Thwaites Lane . Meet up with the tarmac road and turn left up it . Follow the road which becomes a stone track . Look out for the track on the right hand side. Follow this single track over the stream and into the backs of some houses. Take the 1st right hand track ( looks like some ones lawn !) and descend to the road. Turn Right on the road and pick up the first bridleway on the left and follow along its length to Feizor ( ensure you veer left when you come to the bridleway junction). Turn left on the road and follow the road as it climbs and breaks down into an un surfaced track. Go through the gate and follow until you meet up with the farm. I take the left hand surfaced bridleway ,but you can take the right hand grassy one as both come out to the road. Follow the road and take the first left around the quarry and meet up with the road again. Take a left on the road and meet up with the road junction taking a left . Look out for the double track on the right hand side . This is Long Lane ( there are 2) and it is a byway. Follow this round the right hand bend and then take the left track. Follow this as it climbs for approx. 1 mile . Look out for the footpath sign on one of the gates for Horton in Ribblesdale. Take the grassy track down pass through the gate and hang a right onto the track which comes out the back of some cottages . Join the road and descend to Horton in Ribblesdale. Look out for the pub on the bridge as the Pennine Bridleway starts at the back out it . Climb the steep well graded track for approx. 2 miles and look out for a bridleway sign taking you to the left which drops you into the farm at High Birkwith. Follow the tarmac track and look out for the well graded track on your right .Follow this track under the railway line until it meets up with the road. Take a left onto the road and first left onto a tarmac track. Climb the track to the gate, and then take the grassy bridleway back onto Sulber and Long Scar. Take the right hand track at Long Scar and start the drop to Thwaite and the other Long Lane . This is an excellent descent ,quite rocky at the top, but smooths out for a fast descent. Meet up with Thwaite Lane taking a right and drop back through the tunnels to Clapham.

Good mtb trip for beginners, novices and experts alike .

Start at the YDNP car park and head towards the church to pick up the bridleway through the tunnels. Follow Thwaites Lane along its entire length passing over the cross roads . Take a right on the road to pick up the bridleway in Austwick and follow the well graded path. Bear right at the bridleway junction and follow the track to the road .Turn left and follow the road through the gate to the farm. Pass down the track to the left and on to the road . Follow the road to the 90 degree left hander ,and take the bridleway to the right . Follow this past the houses and along the track over the stream until it meets a gravel track . Turn right and head up the incline to the gate . Follow the steep grassy track as it first swings to the left ,and then to the right . Follow it to a Y junction and take a left and head down to Long Lane and the descent back to Thwaites Lanes. Take a right and head back through the tunnels to the car park
