Great day out, the climb was pretty tough... The indistinct path was as it says on the tin. I was a bit dubious at this point, but the decent was a gem.

Description:-
Starting in the car park, you can follow any of the waymarked forest trails. Follow them until you hit the fire road at Tag 1. Follow the fire road past the overhead electricity cables until a path heads off to the right at 3. This is part of the Burn o'Vat trails so keep an eye out for walkers but is a fun singletrack.

At the Burn o'Vat car park head across the road and follow the singletrack around the west of Loch Kinord and Loch Davan. Rejoin the road and follow it North until a fireroad heads off to the left through some trees. The climb up Culblean hill is steep and loose in places and a real challenge to complete without dabbing. Once at the top of the hill follow the road west until just after a stream crossing. The path to the left is very indistinct but you are heading for a gate in the fence across another stream about 400m away. The path is a long fast descent and can be quite overgrown in places.

Eventually you come out at a farm. Go through the farm and follow the road back to the car park. You can head off the road onto the old Deeside line at one point which is more pleasant than riding on the main road.

Nice wee trail and some some nice wee sections- highlight for me is the climb and descent around Cnoc Dubh.

Did this trail today to avoid being out on the exposed hill in the freezing wind. It actually turned out to be a great day weather-wise but this is still a great route. Not very technical, but is fa... read whole comment...

Description:-
This is a run round the Cambus O May forest which avoids going out onto the exposed hillside (as per the normal neep route).

Good for a cold or windy day if you don't fancy doing the climb out onto the exposed hillside.

From the start to Tag 1 is a fairly solid walkers path. The first downhill single-track section starts at Tag 1. This section is a nice fast sweeping section through the trees down a rough rooty quite natural path. Look out for walkers on this one as you can get up loads of speed and there's lots of blind corners. After a short road section the single-track continues (a bit more pedally though). At Tag 2 you start a flat traverse back to the road and then back up the hill at Tag 3.

There's a great view from the top of the hill at Tag 4 before a fab little descent off the top. Eventually you'll get to Tag 5 which is the start of a descent on a very rough double track which is full of dips and humps just perfect for a bit of jumping at speed :-)

Then you just follow the road back as far as Tag 6 where you go down to the river side and all the way back to the car park.
