I think this is the same as the Ibstone 7 which was a really good route. It did get a bit muddy on 1 section where it was clay but besides that it was good in the middle of winter.

Description:-
South Chilterns Sixes is named as it takes in Six ups and Six downs across the Chilterns south of the M40.

It includes a couple of cracking descents directly south of the M40 and the usual Chilterns bridleway riding. In the summer the trail runs very quickly but can be muddy in the winter. Possible pub/refreshment stops include Christmas Common and Hambleden.

Not too many big climbs but the ascent up Hill Rd from the ridgeway at the M40, up the fall side of the Chilterns can be tough. The length could prove especially tiring in winter if muddy.

Technically not very challenging, although speed can be built up on some downs.

Best descents, are out the back of Hanger wood which has a couple of rocks unusual in the Chilterns :-). Also the descent from Frieth through Hatchett wood makes good use of the low altitudes found in this part of the country.

Description:-
This route starts and ends at the pub in Fingest, taking in the best parts of the two existing routes and a few of my own favourites. It is largely off road with two particularly tough climbs and several awesome descents. I particularly enjoy the descents from Turville Heath which has natural berms and a couple of small drops; and from Christmas common which is less technical but seriously fast. It's a 50k route (5 hour ride) but there are plenty of options to cut out a section or two if time is short. As the title suggests, you are either riding up or down hill, with not much flat in between. I hope you enjoy as much as I do.
